In Memoriam Verica Zivkovic

1511721_615408555195421_1493795377_nI was very saddened to learn of the passing of a great haiku poet, Verica Zivkovic.

A Serb by birth and residence, she wrote in multiple languages. Sometimes she contacted me with questions about word choice in English, and I’m very happy that she received one of my haiku postcards.

I hope you take a moment to explore some of her haiku. Here is a good place to start:

I hate “liking” a remembrance post–but I do like that you posted. She was a great artist and will be missed.

I’m with JunkChuck–saddened by the subject matter, but heartened to see a gifted individual remembered.

It’s sad when a beautiful soul leaves this world. Thank you, Andy.
