My reaction to the haiku here has been to wonder why the lines do not follow 7,5,7.
Surely you mean 5-7-5. That said, it’s optional. If you open most modern English-language haiku journals, you will see a lack of 5-7-5. If you are really curious, google “Jane Reichhold”. She’s written a great deal about modern English-language haiku, including this topic, quite extensively.
