Last night at the Pandemonium Press Day of the Dead reading, I finished my slot with some of Carlos “Haiku Elvis” Colon’s poetry as a memorial. Carlos passed away suddenly this past Sunday.
Here’s the video. The homage comes at the very end.

I’m terribly saddened to learn of the sudden death of Carlos Colón, aka Haiku Elvis, yesterday. A huge loss to the haiku community and to the art of haiku itself. Tomorrow night I am reading at a Day of the Dead literary event. I will read some of his haiku in memoriam.

I’m working on a series of short stories about a paperboy in 1970s suburbia. (Not the least bit autobiographical, honest!)
SHADOW BOX has just been published by Unlikely Stories, an online journal based out of Louisiana that focuses on transgressive material.
This is the fourth story from the series to be published, and the second by Unlikely.
Thanks to Justin Herrman, the fiction editor, and Jonathan Penton, the founding publisher.
